I know I have always had different views/opinions/theology from other people, but the one person I did not think I would really have different opinions from, I do. It kind of shocked me in a way. It's not that we have major differences, but slight difference. However it is also a part of me growing up to be my person, thinking for myself and a time to further breakaway and become even more independent than I'm now. It is what Seminary does to you and what it should do to you to some extinct.
I would be there for a friend if their father or mother or sister died. It's just what I would do. Even if I didn't know that friend's family at all. I would be there because I know, love and care about my friend. One certain friend has been one of the best real friends to me since after I graduated high school/college. He cares about me just as much as I care about him and has helped through stressful times while at school and sent me encouraging notes even if he is not at school. It's not just him, but I would go to any of my close friends homes to be with them if they needed me in a time of crisis and I hope my friends would do the same if they could, even if it were the holiday season. I'm not talking about leaving on Easter day or New Year's Eve or Christmas day, but the days following that after the major family times I would go. It's not like I wouldn't see my family again and it's not like I wouldn't be back before for I left for school again. I guess through college and seminary (thus far) I have begun to think more and more for myself, I have tried hard to break free, and I'm slowly making progress, from the shelter, shy, undecisive person I once was. I have developed my own views of what friendship REALLY is. I have had some not so good friendship in the past, unfortunately, and I know how that hurt me and so when I make a friend, their my friend for life and I treat them with respect and have complete trust in them and vice versa. To all my friends (you know who you are): I love and care about each one of you, if you ever need anything just give me call day or night.

Transformation of Lives
So today marks my fourth day of my Christmas break. I found out that some good friends of our family, their daughter is pregnant and going to have baby (boy they think). This is how I found out: My mom was telling me how she a had gotten them a Christmas ornament that said "parents to be" on it and I had no clue at this point that she was pregnant. So I asked my mom "why did you get them that ornament?" My mom looked at me in puzzled way and I in the same way, looked at her. My mom thought she had told me, but she hadn't. So then she told me and I was very excited. I get to be a "2nd cousin!" These friends of ours, my mom and my friend's mom, have been friends since they were born practically. Us kids call each set of parents aunt and uncle. So my brother and I, and my mom's friend's children have practically been like cousins. That is why I'll be a "2nd cousin."
After that news my mom informed me of information regarding my grandpa. My Aunt Sherry and her husband went down to take my grandpa and step grandmother to lunch for Christmas. My step grandmother opened the door all in tears because my grandpa was taking a while getting ready and getting to the door. Well, they finally got outside and my grandpa is shuffling around and gets to grass and stops and looks around then with his cane he starts poking around on the grass and moving his cane through the leaves. Well, my aunt ask my grandpa what he was doing and he said he was raking the leaves. After about a total of 30 mins. they finally got my grandpa into the car and left for the restaurant. For those you who read this and don't already know, my grandpa suffers from Alzheimer's and Parkinson disease and he is fading pretty quickly.
Trying to look on the positive side of life, I have found the power of God's love and beauty, (although still hard to deal with) that while one grandparent who I love dearly and is the only grandparent I really know is slowly dying, another life is being formed at the same time. While one child of God is leaving God's nest to live the in world and accomplish amazing things, another one of God's children, after fighting in WWII and raising three children and being a part of the lives of 6 grandchildren, telling jokes, finding lost Easter eggs, and sharing his love for Georgia Tech, is returning to God's nest soon. Both children will be in good hands that I know for sure!

And it Begins
Well I have joined the world of blogging...I had been wanting to do write my thoughts in someway where people could get to know me and know what I have think because I have just found out how really cool it is to get to strangers (despite suffering from social anxiety disorder) and where they have been, what they have done, what they have planned. It can be a really cool world if you let be.
The Christmas holiday season has arrived and it's finally break time from school..yay! I'm glad to be at home, but I really miss my union friends because up till now i have been lacking the friend area because my family moved like almost every year during my college days. My union friends are all very important and have really become my family. What was interesting that realized the other day was that people randomly started calling me Jenny even though I never introduced myself in that manner. Jenny is usually only a name my family member's call me, its always been that way. However, it made me realize how much my union family really has become my new (second) family.
Well now for the wonderful closing of my first blog ever: I got off the plane today and learned of two pieces of bad news 1) My mom was in the hospital for a couple of days with heart problems 2) MY SUITCASE was STILL in RICHMOND, the stupid people never put any of the passengers baggage on the plane. So I'm going into in holiday season with NO clothes..Lets hope my suitcase arrives soon!
